Paul Scully, member of parliament for Sutton and Cheam, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils and Conservative party vice-chairman for London joined Tamils who were celebrating the Tamil New Year at Stoneleigh Amman Temple in south London. He was joined by the Kevin Davis leader of Kingston Borough Council.
Today Tamils living in the United Kingdom and across the globe will be welcoming a new year. It is a time to spend with loved ones, feast, exchange greetings and offer prayers at temples. Whilst it is a time for celebrating with family and friends and enjoying the festivities, it is also a time for reflecting on past achievements and looking towards the future with hope. In Britain, achievements and contributions of the Tamil community continues to grow. From academia to heal
I would like to wish every Tamil, all happiness for the new year, for peace and prosperity. A year of justice and all rights and democracy for your homeland. Let us hope the coming year will be one of justice, freedom and equality for all Tamils. Thank you for your contribution to the world , to your country and to the UK
I wo uld like to offer my best wishes to all those celebrating Tamil New Year across the globe.
This is a time of year for family and friends to get together and look forward towards the future with the hope.
It is also a time to reflect on the incredible contributions the Tamil community makes to the UK across every walk of life.
To everyone celebrating, I wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year.
Iniya Chithirai Puthaandu Vallthukkal.
